Need Assistance?

For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper. Psa 72:12

Financial

Sometimes we can find ourselves, for a variety of reasons, in difficult and trying financial situations. If you are in need or know someone who is, please contact our Benevolent Committee at 401.789.0523. While we can not guarantee that we can definitely meet any or all of your needs, we will, to the best of our abilities and resources, try to guide you to the help you need.

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Gal 2:10

Emergency Assistance

The Deacons of our church are looking to serve those in need during emergency situations (snowstorms, power outages, car breakdown, etc.). If you find yourself in this type of circumstance please contact Chris Williams. Also, we would like to make sure that everyone in our church family feels safe and secure at all times. If you would like to make sure that you are checked upon with a phone call by one of our Deacons during an emergency of the natural disaster type, please contact Chris Williams at 937.750.6595.

Life Issues

Sometimes problems arise in life that impact our relationship with God or our relationships with those we are closest to. The way we react to life’s problems and difficulties impacts our everyday behaviors and emotions. Marital difficulties, emotional distress (depression, anxiety, anger, etc.), human relationship difficulties, health issues, and sinful behaviors can all cause us to lose the joy, peace, and hope that a relationship with Jesus Christ brings. This is where biblical counseling can help you. Contact the church office during office hours (Tues - Fri - 9:00am-1:00pm) or use the contact page.

Biblical Counseling

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim 3:16-17

What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is about loving people by taking the time to understand them, interpreting their life situations through the grid of Scripture, confronting them with God’s answers and wisdom, and challenging them to engage in change that glorifies and pleases God. The Bible is the sole authoritative source for all change so counseling is carried on in harmony with the regenerating and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Biblical counseling will help you to realize the fruits of the Spirit in your life (Gal 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), by utilizing God’s Word to help you become more Christ-like in your everyday thoughts and actions.

What are the goals of Biblical Counseling?

  • Assuming responsibility for your responses to all of your circumstances.
  • Striving to please God in all of your circumstances, whether God changes them or not.
  • Helping you to understand which of your thoughts and actions are unbiblical (sinful), and are preventing you from moving forward in your relationships (God and/or people).
  • Then using the Bible to exhort and encourage you to replace sinful behavior with biblical thoughts and actions.
  • Finally, equipping you with God's knowledge and wisdom for biblical change in your life so that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can walk in a manner pleasing to God when future similar difficulties arise.
