For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Do you want to connect with Jesus? From our very souls, we all do. We live our lives the best we can, but deep down, we know that somethings off. Somehow, we realize that there’s more to life than what we’re experiencing. We struggle with all sorts of things. We strive to find what we don’t even know we’re missing. And then one day, you wake up and understand that what your missing is Jesus.
The simple gospel message starts with hope in Jesus. Hope for the forgiveness of your sins. Hope for eternal life. Hope for living a joyful, peaceful, and abundant life right now. Hope for a fulfilling purpose in life.
The good news is that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave so that you could be reconciled to God. By embracing his love and receiving by faith his free gift of salvation, you’ll find the forgiveness of your sins and be filled with the Holy Spirit. When that happens, you’ll experience a new start on life. And you’ll realize that you’ve found what you’ve always been missing, a loving relationship with Jesus.
If you would like to find out how to ask Jesus into your life,
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
At The Harbor, we encourage every believer in Jesus Christ to be baptized. We believe that baptism is both a command and blessing. It’s a command, because Jesus told his disciples to baptize those who placed their faith in him. It’s a blessing, because when a person is baptized, it’s a pleasing act of obedience and faith to their loving Heavenly Father.
Baptism is a symbolic act and public display of a person having come to faith in Jesus Christ. When a person is standing in the water, it represents the former life of the person before coming to faith.
When immersed under the water, it’s symbolic of the person uniting in the death of Jesus. And just as Jesus rose from the grave, when a person rises out of the water, they too rise to new life in Christ.
We practice believer’s baptism, which means we only baptize those who have repented of their sins and placed their faith in Jesus Christ.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” –Jesus, Matt. 28:19a
Did you know that we are told to “make disciples,” not just believers or followers of Jesus? Being a believer in Jesus is a necessary starting point, and being a follower of Jesus is a good next step, but if you want to be all that Jesus wants you to be, then you need to consider doing the things necessary to become a fully trained disciple of Jesus.
